Remortgaging your home
We’re here to support you when you’re looking to balance your property finances
When a fixed term mortgage deal comes to an end, it’s not uncommon for homeowners to look at taking out a new deal. If this is with your existing lender, it’s a relatively straightforward process which your mortgage broker, bank or building society will take you through. If, however, you are looking to change to a new lender – perhaps to take advantage of a preferential rate or deal – then you will need legal advice.
This is chiefly because, even if you aren’t moving home, from the perspective of the new lender, you are still considered to be a new security and are subject to all the same paperwork you would be completing for a first-time mortgage. As such, the process carries much of the same legal processes as actually buying a home in the first place.
This is where Berwins’ expertise pays off. Our dedicated team will work with you to explore any specific considerations such as early redemption penalties that you may be facing. They’ll then carry out the legal process from title investigations through to searches and the management of the cash transaction when funds are moved across. At every step, we’re here for you
